Fine-Tuning

In one breath

Teaching a finished model your style or your specialty, using your own examples.

In more detail

Fine-tuning takes a finished, generally capable model and trains it a little further on your own examples, so it absorbs your style, vocabulary or specialty. You’re not building a brain from scratch — you’re giving an experienced new hire a few weeks of on-the-job training.

It matters when instructions alone can’t capture what you want. A support team’s exact tone, a hospital’s report format, a brand’s voice — show the model hundreds of good examples and the behavior becomes second nature, with no lengthy prompt needed every time.

📌 See it in action

A law firm fine-tunes a model on five hundred of its own client memos. Afterwards, the model drafts new memos in the firm’s precise structure and cautious phrasing by default — something no one-line instruction ever quite managed to achieve.
